Ainsworth is the county seat of Brown County and was incorporated as a village in 1883, later developing into a bustling railroad town, attracting pioneering ranchers, businessmen, and, later, farmers as the county became developed. The Niobrara River is just 20 minutes north of Ainsworth and Pine Creek is eight miles east. Tubing and canoeing are favorite summer activities in addition to a beautiful golf course just seven minutes away.
